Barry Island – My Sunday Photo – 27/08/17

Hello everyone. I took this weeks #mysundayphoto pictures quite a few weeks ago when Mr A and myself went to Barry Island for the day.

For those who are not familiar with it, Barry is a seaside town on the South Wales coast. It has featured in a couple of television series in recent times. Most notably Gavin and Stacey, but it also was the home of Mitch and Co in Being Human.

I love Barry because it is the ‘proper’ seaside, as opposed to the muddy Severn estuary towns like Weston-Super-mudmare.

I captured the photos  early in the morning before many people descended on the beach.

The reason I am sharing them this week is because Mr A and myself are planning to make the most of the bank holiday weekend by visiting Barry again tomorrow.

Feet paddling in the sea.

I’ve never been to Barry Island but I have only ever read lovely things about it. Great photo, I love the little toes digging into the sand.

Hi Tracey, I have never been to Barry Island, but anywhere with a coastline sounds good to me. Have a wonderful bank holiday weekend there… And don’t eat too much rock!… They have to sell rock in a place like that!

Hope you have a lovely day! I’ve never been to Barry, but I’d like to (because of Gavin and Stacey!). We go to Weston-super-Mare every couple of years, just because it’s our nearest beach.

Have a great time tomorrow. The last time I went to Barry Island was quite a few years ago, in fact it was a school trip, a special treat for the leavers. I’d love to go back one day.
