Cake – A Parody Song To The Tune of Vogue

Hello everyone. Todays parody song is a tribute to my fabulous friend and linky co-host Agent Spitback. Anyone who knows Agent Spitback will have come to realise she has a bit of an addiction. Not blogging ( if that’s an addiction, were all addicts) no dear readers, my beloved friend is addicted to cake. What a fabulous thing to be addicted to, so much choice and guaranteed to make you happy even on the worst of days.

As for the the tune, this one was really easy again. The joint queen of Linkies deserved nothing less than the best, so that means the queen of pop Madonna.

Take a slice
Take a slice
(whispered) Cake, Cake, Cake
(whispered) Cake, cake, cake

Look around, everywhere you go there’s health food
It’s everywhere that you go (look around)
You try everything you can to enjoy
But it tastes rubbish you know ( it’s crap you know)

When all else fails you and you long to taste
Something better than you ate today
I know a place where you can get away
Its called the cake shop, and that’s where we stop, so

Come on, cake
Let your taste buds savour the sweetness, hey, hey, hey
Come on, cake
Let your molars go with the flow
You know you deserve it

Make a cake, Pintrest for  imagination
Your kids will love you once more (love you once more)
Instagam for your finest inspiration
Their pics will open the door (open up the door)

It makes no difference if its ice or plain
If it has nuts or some fruit
It’s the taste that makes it, it will give you new life
You’re a baking star, yes that’s what you are (you know it)

Come on, cake
Let your taste buds savour the sweetness, hey, hey, hey
Come on, cake
Let your molars go with the flow
You know you deserve it

Taste is where you bake it
Now the low-fat health foods fake it
Cream cheese frosting’s wonderful
Makes my tum feel so beautiful
Magical, makes me full
So get off down the cake shop

Come on, cake
Let your taste buds savour the sweetness, hey, hey, hey
Come on, cake
Let your molars go with the flow
You know you deserve it

Taste is where you bake it (savour the sweetness)
Taste is where you bake it (savour the sweetness)

Chocolate, carrot, and cream tea
Walnut, coffee, come to me
Cupcakes ready for a queen
Got the idea from a magazine

Choc chip, muffins, cream
Cakes so tasty, like a dream
Sweet, cold, arctic roll
Lemon drizzle, takes its toll

I am hungry, got no grace
Stuff them quickly in my face
Cherry, apple, cheesecake too
All the sweet things we love you

Ladies with an attitude
Cake can help improve your mood
Don’t just stand there, let’s get to it
Eat some cake, there’s nothing to it

Cake, cake

Cake, cake

Ohh, you’ve got to, let your taste buds savour the flavour
Ohh, you’ve got to just let your molars go with the flow

Ohh, you’ve got to just

So there it is, my tribute to one of the best foods in the world. If you have a topic you think would work well as a tribute song, or a favourite song you would like me to use, please let me know and I will dedicate the song I write to you.

There are worse things to be addicted to. Besides if you bust some moves while singing the cake song, you will burn off all those cake calloriesx
