Cows – My Sunday Photo – 16/09/10

Hello everyone. You may be aware that Mr A and myself live in the Forest of Dean. It is without doubt a beautiful part of the  country. However if I’m honest the views in the forest are not the ones I love the best.

When I was a teen we moved from Kent to a village that lies just outside the forest in an area known as Severnside, because its on the banks of the Severn. The farm we lived on had a public footpath that ran all the way down to the Severn (if it isn’t too muddy). To me the area that runs alongside the river Severn is really beautiful and always make me feel better when I’m there.

Today Mr A and myself took a long walk along the path and because it was dry we got all the way to the river. Now you may be thinking I took pictures of the beautiful scenery on our way to the river. However we past several fields of cows on our way down and its these I chose to take pictures of these, because why not? Cows are cool (and the black cow was patricularly photogenic).

Black cow stood facing the camera, one leg lifted as though she is dancing
Do you like her moooooves?
A group of cows on a bank eating grass
Busy making milk
A black cow sticking its tongue out
“Yes I can touch my nose with my tongue”

Do you have a special place that you love to visit? Does your special place have cows in it too?

I prefer the seaside myself … cows are cool, but you can’t beat the beach, I reckon. It’s why we live near the sea. #MixItUp

Funnily enough, my favourite space probably does have cows on it. I love the mountains and it’s just so beautiful when you get to the top and hear the gentle clinking and clonking of cow bells! Such lovely creatures aren’t they? Where you live sounds gorgeous! 🙂 #sundayphoto

I love your pictures of the Forest of Dean and always tell myself I’ll visit there one day. I’ve never ever seen it. Cows really are beautiful, my favourite are highland ones!

Cows are lovely, I love the photo with her tongue out! What an amazing colour too. We live on the outskirts of a busy city, but we have farms in just walking distance. Best of both worlds I’d say. Although, if I was honest, I’d love to live in the middle of nowhere, with no neighbours and just lovely views.

I think village life suits me best. Enough people and facilities around to make being a non driver bearable but quiet and amazing scenerey too

My mum & dad live in the country where there’s lots of cows – you don’t tend to see them where we live by the beach though! #MySundayPhoto

You’ve reminded me of a video (possibly an advert) I saw ages ago of a cow running on a beach 😁

We’re surrounded by cows and sheep, so I don’t take as many photos of them as I should. You’ve made me think I should. #MySundayPhoto
