Crochet Witch – Free Pattern – Off The Hook
Hello everyone. With Halloween fast approaching I have been thinking about decorations. I was going to start on some orange, purple and black bunting, but before I got started one of my lovely Twitter friends asked me to make a crochet witch softie for her granddaughter.
I decided to go for a friendly crochet witch design and really pleased with the result. It was difficult to let her go.

For the crochet witch hair cut long strands of grey yarn. Insert the hook in the head where you want to attach a strand of hair loop the yarn around the hook, pull loop through, put both ends over the hook and pull through loop. Trim the hair once you have attached enough strands. Attach shorter strands at the front for a fringe. Sew hat on the head over the hair.
Broom
(1) Chain 26. Working into the back loop of the chain sc into 2nd chain from the hook, then sc into the next 25 chains.
(2) sc into each sitch. Cut a length of bamboo skewer just shorter than the strip of crochet. Wrap a small amount of stuffing around the top and bottom of the skewer. Wrap the strip around the skewer and sew the two edges together to cover the skewer.
Cut 2 inch lengths of yarn and using a long length of yarn tie them to the broom handle.
This little crochet witch is cute and friendly and a great addition to any Halloween display.
