Daleks – My Sunday Photo – 18/03/18

Hello everyone. Its been another cold and wet week, so I’ve had to raid the archives again this week.

As stated on my Twitter profile I’m a huge Doctor Who fan. My favourite bad guys are the Daleks. The first 4 pictures were taken at the Doctor Who exhibition many years ago when it was held at The Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff. The last picture was taken by Mr A when he was a delivery driver in Bristol.  Who built it and for what purpose we dont know, but what an awesome thing to have in your front garden.

Have you ever been to a Doctor Who exhibition? Have you ever seen a Dalek or other Doctor Who character anywhere unusual?

Is the garden one in the exhibition or just in someone’s garden? That would be so cool!!!! #PointShoot

I used to be so scared of the Daleks when I was a child, I had nightmares about them…and that’s way before they could fly or climb stairs! I have been to a Doctor Exhibition, I can’t remember where though, maybe Brighton. I’ll have to check, I know it was when my 12 yr old was just a baby. You could climb inside a Dalek and they had the Doctor’s car Bessie there. Jon Pertwee was the Doctor when I was a child and he was exiled on Earth. Bessie was his car and I remember it so well. I will definitely have to go back to Cardiff soon, the last time was around 2008 where we went to see The Doctor Who Children in Need concert. It’s funny but the dalek there didn’t scare me, but the Cybermen did. Ah, look, you’ve got me rambling now, sorry. I’d love a dalek in my front garden though. It would have to talk though, there’s a few people/children that come to my door that I’d love to give a scare….(cue evil laugh)

Pretty cool to see them. We’re not Doctor Who fans, but we’ve seen the/a Tardis at a phone box display at Avoncroft.

I do love a Dalek too. I went to a Dr Who exhibition in London ages ago, but never been to the one in Cardiff. I do like the graden Dalek too though! #mysundayphoto

Those daleks terrified me as a child and I still can’t look at them without a shiver.

We visited the Cardiff exhibitions years ago – it was when Heather was pregnant with Isaac so it must have been the back half of 2007. Got to love the Daleks, although I have to admit as a child I always found the Cybermen much scarier.
