Hogwarts Express – My Sunday Photo – 4/03/18

Hello everyone, I’m fairly sure there will be plenty of snow pictures in #mysundayphoto and #pointshoot posts this week. I however am an eternal snow grinch and have spent the week safely indoors.

While staying safe from the snow is sensible, it doesn’t leave many opotunities for photo taking, so I thought I would share pictues of my latest work in progress.

I have for the past 3 weeks been making a crochet Hogwarts Express.  It is a mamouth project. It will be over 4 foot in length once its finished and will require  10 balls of wool, over 1kg of stuffing plus countless hours of work. It will be awesome when its finished though.

Begining of a crochet train in red and black.
At the begining there was a water tank, boiler and cab
Crochet train from the side. Has a funnel and wheels, plus more embroidered details
A funnel and wheels make all the difference
Train from the front showing the Hogwarts Express badge and the number 5972 on the front
No train would be complete without its name badge and number
A red carriage with yellow stripes. Not stuffed.
The first of two carriages
Train from the side with the finished carriage behind it
The train so far. Still needing a coal wagon and one more carriage.

As you can see there is a lot of work already gone into the train and more to go before its finished. It will be a masterpiece once completed.

Do you love Harry Potter? Do you think I should share the pattern once its finished?

It looks amazing! I’m a big Harry Potter fan. I’m not sure that many people would be able to create that even with your pattern.

Its time consuming with all the small details but quite a basic pattern. Mainly just rectangles sewn together
