How To Make A Blog Logo

Hello everyone. When I first started blogging years ago I didn’t know how to make a blog logo and didn’t pay too much attention to how  my blog looked. Nor did I consider how the look of my blog tied in with my other social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. However it’s a fact that having a recognisable image across all these platforms can help make a blog look more professional. It can also make it easier for readers to find and follow bloggers across the different platforms.

Even when I realised their importance I still didn’t  know how to make a blog logo properly. I have  therefore had some rather dodgy ones in the past. Recently I decided to update the look of my blog. One of the sites I looked at to help with the new logo was Logojoy. Logojoy is a site that uses artificial intelligence to help people generate beautiful logos for their businesses or blogs.

How to make a  blog logo using Logojoy

The Logojoy site is very easy to navigate. The first page asked for my blog name. I  was then directed to a page with a range of different logo designs. Logojoy asked me to pick 5 different logos that I particularly like. This allowed the artificial intelligence system to  understand my preferences in order to later generate logo ideas specific for me. On further pages I  was asked for colour preferences and which symbols I liked.

These choices were all used to generate a series of possible logo options.  From these options I chose one I particularly liked to further customise. In the customisation view I was able to alter the colour of the background, text and symbol, change the size and spacing of the font and alter the layout of the logo. I have to confess I went a bit mad with the gold-leaf option, at one point I had gold leaf writing and symbol on a gold leaf background. That is too much bling for anyone.

In the end this is the design I went with.

Hooks and dragon logo. A gold dragon and gold writing saying Hools and Dragons on a teal backgroundonce I had finalised my design I went to pay for it. Logojoy has 2 options that would have been suitable for me. The basic option let you download just one  low resolution image. I went for the premium package that let me download 4 different high resolution options of my logo.

I could have had my logo in gold with a transparent background.

A gold dragon with Hooks and Dragons written im gold om a white background

Dark logo with a transparent background.

Black dragon and hooks and dragons written in blacl on a white background

Or white with a transparent background (which I will not show you here for obvious reasons).

The cost of the premium package is $65 which works out at around £60. The basic package is just $20.

Would I recommend Logojoy?

I found the Logojoy site very easy to navigate.  The choice of symbols was a little limited and I was disappointed that I couldn’t  combine two symbols on the logo (there was a crochet hook symbol available). I think this is a great site for people  who are just starting off their blogging or business and are after a simple easy to navigate logo service.

Have you used a site like Logojoy to design a blog logo? Would you consider using one in the future?

That is very interesting! I designed my own logo but using a free image that I then photoshopped and went from there. I like to be as original as possible but as I am also toying with the idea of changing my blog name, so will my logo change so I am going to bookmark this site and see how it works for me. Thanks Tracey! This is really helpful:)
