For Sale In Ross – My Sunday Photo – 3/09/17

Hello everyone. Last week in my #mysundayphoto post I said I was planning to spend the bank holiday Sunday at the beach. However when Mr A checked the traffic that morning we decided against the idea. We didn’t fancy spending hours stuck in traffic jams.

Instead we decided to take a drive out to Ross-On-Wye. A beautiful little town that has an abundance of little antique shops. However being a Sunday most of these were closed so we decided instead to visit first the garden centre there and secondly to take a walk along the river Wye.

While in the garden centre we saw the subject of my first photo. A set of bronze wild boar statues. I think the boar in the Forest of Dean are rather cool even though they do make an awful mess, so I would love to have this family of boar in my garden. However I don’t have either a garden or the hundreds of pounds it would cost to buy them.

After walking along the river we popped into a little gift shop that is located by the Hope and Anchor pub. Inside I saw something that I had to feature in this weeks post. A full set of replica medieval armour. Available to buy for a mere £1000.

This would make the most amazing talking point in the right setting.

Which would you be more in lined to buy, the boar or the armour?

I love them both but I think I would probably go for the boar. I’m not sure I have the room in the house for a suit of armour!

I thought the boar was impressive until I saw the armour and that really made me huckle. You can imagine someone actually buying that and trying to wear it out somehwere 🙂

That’s a tough choice! I think I’d go for the boar, although perhaps just one rather than the whole family!

What a lovely place. Knowing our family, it would have to be the armour x

I’d love both but fear that if the armour was standing in my hallway I’d probably jump every time I came across him. Giving myself such a fright.
The boar photo reminded me of my time in Sidney Australia… where there is a life size bronze statue of a boar outside the oldest hospital. People rub it’s nose for good luck. Here’s a link if you’d like to know/see more http://www.cityartsydney.com.au/artwork/il-porcellino/
Have a great Sunday and thanks for sharing 😀
