Snowdogs – My Sunday Photo – 24/02/18

Hello everyone. Last weekend Mr A and myself took a detour from our usual shopping route and visited the beautiful town of Monmouth instead. While wandering past the towns Shire Hall we noticed some rather beautifully painted model snowdogs.

On doing a bit of research I found out these dogs have been decorated by children from 11 local schools. They were commissioned to raise money for the Ty Hafan Childrens Hospice. This is an amazing place that provides care for terminaly ill children. The Snowdogs apeal has so far raised £25,000 for Ty Hafan. To read more about the appeal click Here.

Now obviously I can only share 5 pictures today. It would be impossible to chose which 5 I likes the best, so these are just the ones I took the best pictures of.Blue snowdog with gold feet and tail. Pictured from the front

Multi coloured snowdog pictured from the front

Black snowdog with silver doodles over body. Pictured from the front

Pink snowdog with written notes all over its body. Pictured from the side

Purple snowdog with white snowflakes. Pictured from the front

Have you seen the Monmouth snowdogs? If not have you seen similar appeals where you live?

I’ve seen similar creations and think it’s great that it’s done with a charity in mind. #PointShoot

They’re so cute. We had a similar thing at the Opera House this LNY. Different style dogs but all painted by other people and you put the money in for which charity you liked…#PointShoot

What a brilliant idea. encouraging children to be creative and develop their art work and also helping a local charity. In my home town we also have a children’s hospice and my brother regular runs fundraisers for it. They do amazing work! Thank you for linking up to #PointShoot 📸

Oh I love them! Especially the black one…very cool. I wonder if they will sell them off at the end? Would make a cool thing to have in the garden. We had a similar thing in Bath but they were pigs…..great fun especially finding them all over the city. #pointshoot

They are so cute. We did one over the summer of animals in a town near us and they were fantastic. They look very sweet x #mysundayphoto

These are so lovely and for a brilliant cause too. I’m always slightly envious of these types of trails as we don’t really have them up north and they look so much fun to find. Hope thw charity manages to raise lots!

They’re gorgeous! I haven’t seen these, but I loved the Shaun and Gromit trails they had in Bristol a few years ago.

I’ve seen a few similar things like this in various places before – it’s such a great idea to get schools involved and the kids must get such a kick out of seeing their creations displayed publicly for all to see.

Yes, and they really are very well decorated. Every bit as good as the painted characters you often see in Bristol in the summer
