Squirrels – My Sunday Photo – 22/10/17

Hello everyone. Earlier in the week Mr A and myself went to Caldicot castle for the day. It was my intention to take a few photos to use in my #mysundayphoto post this week. However I ended up taking loads of pictures and wrote a photo filled post about the castle earlier this week.

This left me somewhat lacking in useful pictures for today’s post, but I was lucky. Mr A had taken some different pictures that day. Not of the castle, but in the grounds where we saw a number of squirrels. One in particular was a very brave cheeky little chap and quite happily let us get quite close to photograph him.

Not the best quality photos but I think you can see how cute he was, especially when he was hung upside down chewing on his nuts without a care in the world!

Do you like squirrels?

They move far too quickly for my liking. One once ran up my leg and frightened the life out of me. I was wearing dark grey skinny jeans at the time and thought perhaps I may have resembled a small tree trunk 🙂

Such clever little things. I hadn’t even realised it was hanging upside down in the first one! They’re always so quick too so he did well to capture it!

I do like squirrels. Back in the 90’s I lived in a home where the previous owner and neighbors on both sides fed the birds each morning. Well the squirrels liked the bread too and were used to the ladies. I became a new lady squirrel feeder and even had one venture on the back porch to take the bread from my hand. It was exciting.

We have squirrels in our garden, they come right up to my patio doors. When I was Center Parcs a few years ago I got up early before the kids and decided to have a cup of tea on the patio, when a red squirrel came and joined me! We’d been trying to capture a red squirrel all week and then there was one on the table right next to me! Guess where my camera was? Yup, nowhere near at all. I didn’t even have my phone handy.

Wow, I’m impressed at the squirrels ability to eat upside down. I’ve never seen that before. #MySundayPhoto

What a cute little guy. There are tricky to photograph sometimes but you’ve got some good ‘uns!

I do love squirrels but that’s probably because so far I haven’t had them raid my bird feeders…but I’m talking about the red squirrels. We have visited lots of castles up here…there’s over 300 apparently and they all seem to have lots of squirrel programmes to encourage them. I had a photographic day not so long ago and got some great shots of the agility tests at the various feeders.

Well done capturing the squirrels, they are so fast here I never manage it.

Squirrels are such tricky subjects to photograph, aren’t they? They are always so skittish whenever a person approaches them!

Oh that is an adorable little squirrel. I like watching them from a distance – I’m not keen if they get too close!
