Stone Lady – My Sunday Photo – 21/05/17
Hello readers. Near to where Mr A and myself live is a large arts and crafts centre called Taurus Crafts which we often visit at the weekends.
We have many reasons why we visit Taurus. Firstly its run by a group called The Camphill Village Trust who provide housing and employment for individuals with learning disabilities. I’ve worked with individuals with LD’s for the last 18 years, so consequently always support places that provide oppotunities for real employment for this group of people.
Another reason I love Taurus is because they sell the most awesome ice cream on the planet. Their lemon meringue flavour is amazing.
Finally I love to visit the centre to view the crafts on sale. There are a wide range of artists from glass makers, pottery makers, chocolatiers, and a stone mason.
I love Cats Eye Carving. Each of their designs are completely unique, ranging from bookends, clocks and words for indoor use to wonderful garden sculptures.
I love all the items on display in the shop, however this one is my favourite.
It has a very hefty four figure price tag, but if I ever found myself with that sort of money spare I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to buy it.
She is quite an unusual piece, because she is beautiful yet with such a sad expression. To my mind she seems to look like how I often feel behind my happy mask.
