10 For 10 – A Blogger Award
Hello readers. I love a good blogger award. Not the ones that require votes and a post evening out but the ones bloggers give to their fellow bloggers by the way of blogger award posts.
Not only do they give people the change to give a shout out for their favourite bloggers but they also allow us to be a little bit nosey and find out more about them.
Now I have said I like these awards and i am always really chuffed when I get tagged in one, but I am appallingly bad at actually writing my follow-up posts. I must have 3 or 4 in draft form at the moment. I will get them all written and published soon, but until then I have decided to give you some useless trivia about myself in the form or a new blogger award
10 for 10 Blogger Award
Blogger awards generally get bloggers to answer a list of questions set by the person who tagged them and them set a different list of questions for the people they tag.
This type of award is fabulous, but it doesn’t let people compare the answers of different bloggers who take part.
So I thought this award would have a set of questions that anyone tagged would have to answer, but I was still at a loss as to what those questions should be.
The solution came to me one evening last week when I was chatting to someone on Twitter. The conversation came round to the subject of who was on our exemption lists.
For those of you not aware of the term, or who may call it something else, an exemption list is a list of famous people for whom you would be exempt from criticism from your significant other if you did naughty things with them (should the opportunity ever arise).
This conversation got me thinking back to my dating days. During the early stages of messaging potential dates one of the questions I would always ask was who is on your exemption list? A second question I always asked was ‘which 5 famous people would you invite to a dinner party with you?
The answers I got from these questions were varied and sometimes very odd, but certainly gave me a better insight into the people I was messaging.
When I thought about it these two questions seemed perfect for my blogger award.
I have called it 10 for 10 as I am asking 10 people to give a list of 10 famous people they would like to either get naughty with or invite to dinner. Simple, a little bit naughty and yet with the potential for plenty of debate and hilarious confessions.
Because there always has to be some rules.
1 – Thank the person who tagged you and link back to their post.
2 – Copy and paste the rules into your post.
3 – List 5 famous people who are in your exemption list and explain why (an exemption list is a list of famous people you could do naughty things with and be exempt from punishment by your significant other). For anyone who is currently not in possession of a significant other, please just list 5 famous people you would love to
4 – List 5 people you would invite to a dinner party and explain why. These must consist of 2 famous people who are alive, 2 famous people who are deceased and one famous fictional character.
5 – Nominate 10 bloggers to play along.
My Exemption List
(in no particular order)
1- Dave Grohl. No surprises there. Dave Grohl is god, and also on occasion the devil. A tall, dark, fit, tattooed musical genius and all round nice guy of rock, even my male friends want to have his babies.
2 – Aiden Turner. With his impossibly dark eyes, messy hair and Irish accent, this man is very, very sexy. Whether he is playing a vampire or even a dwarf he ticks all the boxes for me.
3 – Prince Harry. Oh come on, he might be a ginger but he is fit. besides which I must have one prince charming on my list.
4 – Adam Levine. Oh. My. Gosh. Adam is incredibly fit, very tattooed and loves to pose semi naked for photo-shoots. Whats not to love. Oh and he is a rather good singer too.
5 – Billie Joe Armstrong. Maybe its the guy-liner, cheeky smile and punk hair, maybe its his fuck you anti-establishment attitude or possibly his liking for getting his bum out, I really couldn’t say what makes him attractive. However if I were ever offered the chance to spend an afternoon ‘chatting’ I would not say no.
My Party Guest List
1 – Famous and deceased – Freddie Mercury. The man was a legend. Queen was one of the soundtracks of my childhood and I sorely regret the fact that I was too young to ever see Queen play live. Freddie was the ultimate showman and every good dinner party needs one of those.
2 – Famous and deceased – George Michael. If Queen were one big musical influence in my childhood, Wham and George Michael were another. He was one of my first crushes, a man of immense talent and also according to real life friends who had the privileged of meeting him he was a lovely, genuine man.
3 – Famous and alive – Stephen Fry. One of the cleverest, most entertaining and charming men on the planet. I can imagine conversations with Stephen would go on long into the night.
4 – Famous and fictional – Dumbledore. Well if I have one of the most intelligent real life men on the planet at my table then it is only fair yo give him someone of equal intellect to chat to. His party tricks would be awesome too.
5 – Famous and alive – Dave Grohl. Yes, I know he is on both lists. I don’t care, the man is a living legend and drop dead gorgeous.
